The Office of Inspector General (OIG) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) promotes the voluntary implementation of compliance programs by organizations within the healthcare industry.  The compliance efforts are designed to establish a culture within a hospital that promotes prevention, detection, and resolution of instances of conduct that do not conform to federal and state law, and federal, state, and private pay or healthcare program requirements.

Central State Hospital has voluntarily implemented a Compliance Program that sets forth standards of conduct and policies/procedures dedicated to detecting, reporting, correcting, and preventing illegal and unethical conduct.

Central State Hospital employees and all other individuals are encouraged to utilize the “HHS-OIG Hotline” anytime they observe any evidence of fraud and abuse, misconduct, or other actions which compromise the integrity of services provided by the hospital.  It is the policy of Central State Hospital to comply with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
