LIBRARY SERVICES at Central State Hospital include an on-site information & resource center for clients, family members and staff. In addition, this CSH website provides the learner with a recommended “resource” of link pages to the virtual library of the worldwide internet.

Client Library resource services are available in both the client care living units (reading rooms) and at a central service area in the Yarbrough Building. Staff Library services include a behavioral health reference area for the technical and professional disciplines staff, and a Medical Library for the periodical shelf and reading room.

The CLIENTS’ LIBRARY is located in the Yarbrough Building and in client care building satellite - reading rooms. Current popular magazines and hard cover text are available for clients to review on-site and borrow.

The STAFF LIBRARY, also located on the ground level of the Yarbrough Building, includes text, journals and periodicals for the disciplines of nursing, psychology, social work, rehabilitation services, pharmacy, and health care administration.  A computer with Internet access is available in the Staff Library.

The MEDICAL LIBRARY consists of medical text resources, journals and periodical collections- located on the ground level Yarbrough.  This collection is used primarily by physicians and other credentialed practitioners. Currently the library science professionals at Mercer University’s School of Medicine provide limited research and materials access services to the CSH Medical Library.
